One interesting thing you can do with the scratch pad is evaluate trades between two or even more teams. Flip to the League Rosters tab on the left, and then use the dropdown menu to select the team you want to trade from. Let's say you want to see what would happen to your lineup if you traded Schumaker for Crawford. Simply click the grip image and drag the player from one team to another.
If you drop the player onto another positon, both players are switched. Notice that you can only drop players on positions that they are eligible to play. If you don't want to make a reciprocal trade, then you can drag a player onto the bench area of another team, which will only move one player over.
The standings pane is now adjusted. Looks like we'll gain 6 more homers for Crawford than we will lose for Schumaker; seems like a good deal. We're looking at current-on-pace-for stats. If we flip to last year or even 3 year average, looks like we'll do even better.
Lets flip to projected stats. By default you have the benchcoach default projections, which are derived in part from Marcel and Chone projections. You can change these. If you have selected "Projections" on the stat type selector on the top right, simply click on the stat you want to change with your mouse. Type in new the value and press save. Everything is recalculated. Notice that any customized projections are displayed in green. Any player who is on your roster or whom you've added a projection for can be seen either on this page, or by selecting "Watch" from the nav bar.
There is no limit to the number of movements you can evaluate. Players can be dragged from either the left pane or the right pane. Simply select a team from either the roster selector on the left or the lineup selector on the right, and drag away. After a while, all of these movements can be confusing. To see a list of all changes you've made since the last sync, press on the "Show changes" link on the left. Here you can see all the movements summarized. The revert button will roll back any changes you have made.
